Our Crowdfunding Groups
SchoolSeed Foundation, Shelby County Schools and the HBCU Awareness Foundation are working together to expose students to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The second Bus Tour trip is scheduled for September 30. The cost of the trip per student is $50. We are working to raise dollars to offset the cost of this trip for students. We know that more than 40,000 students in SCS live in households with an annual median income of $10,000. A student may have the potential to excel in college, but may not have the funds to visit an HBCU. We know that HBCUs do a very good job of nurturing students from communities such as ours and we want to expose students to those high quality options. The second trip is to Tennessee State University on September 30. It is our Goal to raise $2500 which would give 50 students this experience.
