OUR BRICK CAMPAIGN MOVES INTO THE NEXT PHASE. WE HAVE NEARLY 700 BRICKS ORDERED AND TO BE INSTALLED IN SPRING. WE ANTICIPATE MANY WILL THEN SEE THE OPPORTUNITY AND ASK TO JOIN THE COURTYARD. GIVEN COSTS, WE'LL SUBMIT SUPPLEMENTAL BRICK ORDERS TO THE COMPANY ONCE WE HAVE A NUMBER THAT IS COST-EFFECTIVE...MAYBE 50, MAYBE 100. SO, IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, YOU MAY STILL JOIN US!
WE DID IT! Thanks to you, we have raised nearly $236,000 towards Phase 2 of our courtyard; those funds will cover tinted concrete paths, brick pods, cistern irrigation, and seating areas. We hope you are as excited as we are to share when you hear that we started the construction process last Thursday.
We are once again opening the fundraising site because now we need our community’s help to raise funds for the “fun stuff”: trees, plants, flowers, and art that will make Phase 2 a truly special and unique spot on campus. Our goal is another $89,283. That’s a little less than 600 bricks. We hope that one dedicated class and group of alumni will take us to our goal to complete this 15,000 square foot internal park as a special place of pride for our students, teachers, alumni, and neighbors.
Before you click on the Give Now link, please see the instructions below.
On December 1, 2020, we will submit our inscribed brick order so that the bricks will be ready in time to be installed next spring. This is one last opportunity for you to recognize—for the next 30 plus years—your graduating senior, your class, your favorite alumnus or the teacher you’ll never forget.
It’s now real…and you can be a part of it, for a very long time. Get a jump on this deadline before it passes.
The Courtyard Team completed Phase 1 of the Courtyard Project. It is in the center of campus, and is already being used for academic activities and social gatherings. You can view that project and its updates here.
Phase 2 of the Courtyard Project will feature a brick path leading visitors to more green space, a rain garden, bricked study alcoves, and artwork by WSHS alum and highly acclaimed Memphis artist, Rachel Briggs. Ms Briggs will work with WSHS students on some of her creations. We have completed the first have of fundraising for Phase 2 and have started construction (see above). Then mail your check to SchoolSeed at the address above. This donation is tax deductible.
After you pay, if you realize you have made a mistake on the brick language, please email Amy Mulroy, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Richard Myers, email@example.com, and we can make the correction. And please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
WE WILL EMAIL YOU A MOCKUP OF YOUR BRICK FOR YOUR APPROVAL.
