The pandemic has hit the performing arts particularly hard and it is important that our young musicians return to a sense of normalcy in performing. Part of that entail participating in both local and national festivals. The students have worked to hard to return to competition shape after a year of virtual singing and competing again allows another means of how these students can reap the fruits of their hard work. We are in need of a minimum of $55,000 to cover the transportation as well as other ancillary costs associated with our Toronto trip including first aid, and additional chaperon packages. We are also in need of help with lodging costs associated with the All State Honor Choir Concert in Nashville, TN as well as awards for our end of the year awards dinner.
Overton has a storied history of producing excellence in all areas of the arts. We are picking up the baton and continuing the work that Dr. Lulah Hedgeman began so many years ago. Funding is the first step in continuing the Overton Choral legacy.
