The Youth Education Success (YES) Fund will build more fairness into investments for improving education and leverage dollars to do more for students by supporting proven programs and practice that lead to better results for students in our highest need areas. The YES Fund targets investments that specifically support early literacy and high school success, two critical milestones of child development.
In these trying times of the global COVID pandemic, it is especially important to focus on the current needs for students to keep learning with resources at home. In many neighborhoods across Memphis & Shelby County, as many as 45% of households lack internet access, and many students do not have devices (laptops, tablets, etc) at home to support their learning.
The COVID relief initiative of the YES Fund will focus on providing devices and Internet access to students in need, connecting them with teachers and with both local and worldwide learning opportunities. The initiative will focus on reaching those students who need critical support with early literacy or high school learning. By helping students get connected while schools are closed, the YES Fund will help close the digital divide and bring more learning resources into student homes, driving better educational outcomes through this crisis and beyond. We hope that you will contribute to support this community effort to ensure our students keep learning!
